DIVINA WORKSHOP – The Art of Being Seen
"Diva" is the ancient Latin word for a deity. This term is still used today, though its meaning has evolved, sometimes taking on negative connotations. However, its original meaning, of something sacred and powerful, remains intact.
Burlesque, the art of seduction and see-through, has a magical structure that contains, almost like a ritual, the embodiment of those intimate parts of ourselves with which we rarely allow ourselves to communicate after we have shed the version of ourselves that limits us. The movements, irony, playfulness, freedom, and celebration of the body, intrinsic elements of this art form, offer us a light and joyful space in which to transform ourselves, giving voice and recognition to our fantasies and our most hidden desires.
